Belize post first victory in World Cup Qualification

Belize posted their first victory in the history of CONCACAF World Cup Qualification as they topped St. Kitts & Nevis, 3:1, in the first-leg of the Stage 1 elimination series to South Africa 2010 at Estadio Mateo Flores in Guatemala City, Guatemala on Wednesday afternoon.

Deon McCalauy opened the scoring for Belize in the seventh minute, but Gerard Williams tied it for St. Kitts & Nevis six minutes later.

Harrison Rochez gave Belize the lead in the 22nd minute and then McCalauy closed out the scoring four minutes before halftime. Both teams will meet again in the second-leg scheduled for Warner Park Stadium in Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis on 26 March.
